Aryletta Juline (Cook) Reed, age 96 of Louisville, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Born in Paducah to the late Steve Raymond and Valeria Mae (McGee) Cook, she lived a life defined by hard work and unwavering devotion to her family. Beginning her career at Florsheim Shoes in Paducah, she worked her way up to the assembly line through determination and perseverance—a testament to the work ethic that inspired everyone who knew her.  Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. As a devoted member of Calvert City Church of Christ, she found strength, fellowship, and purpose, living each day with grace and compassion.  Above all else, Aryletta cherished her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose greatest joy came from seeing those she loved happy. Whether sharing stories, offering encouragement, or simply being present, she had a way of making everyone feel valued and deeply loved. Her warmth will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends whose lives were brighter because she was in them.

Aryletta loved to watch golf, enjoyed her boat rides on the water, golf cart rides around the neighborhood to see friendly faces, and simply being at home, watching her favorite programs on TV.  A true caregiver at heart, she was always taking care of others in need.  She enjoyed her visits to Paducah to see family and friends, and enjoyed the “Little Yellow Lake House” that she loved to visit for peace and family time.  She loved being covered in grandbabies on their Summer visits, laughing and sharing lots of hugs and kisses along the way.

Aryletta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Reed, whom she missed dearly. After years apart, they are reunited once more, together again in perfect peace.  Anyone who knew Aryletta also knew the special place animals held in her heart. Her beloved four-legged grandbabies (pet squirrel, Dieselz, and faithful doggies, Gia, Buddy, and Casey), brought her endless companionship and joy. It brings comfort to imagine them welcoming her into her new Heavenly home with joyful tail wags, happy kisses, and the unconditional love they always shared.

Aryletta is survived by her loving children: Judy (Julia) Hale of Louisville; Tom Cumbee (and Tony Cromer…her other son) of Louisville; and Patricia "Patsy" Reed of Cleveland; her loving grandchildren: April Bowman (Jason), Glenn A. Hall, Jr., Joshua Lee Hale and LeighAnne Cumbee (Mike); step-grandchildren: Jeremy Hale (Danielle), Melanie Hale and Christal McKernon (Robert III); her great-grandchildren: Byron Bowman, Brigid Bowman, Sean Tyler Duncan and Ethan Michael Koenig; step-great-grandchildren: Destiny, Caitlyn, Sydra, Joey & Alex; and her grand-dogs, Sassy, Daisy, Budster & Pearl.  Aryletta also leaves behind treasured friendships that became family. Lori Clark, Glenda Devanadeva, Kim Sigler, and Jean Griffis who stood faithfully by her side through decades, surrounding her with love, companionship, and unwavering support. Their devotion was a precious gift, and her family will always be grateful for the kindness they showed her.  As we say goodbye, we hold tightly to the memories Aryletta leaves behind and the promise that love never truly ends. Her legacy lives on in every lesson she taught, every laugh she shared, every hug she gave, and every heart she touched.

Local Visitation Hours will be held 3-8 PM (Eastern Standard Time) on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Legacy Funeral Center - Nunnelley Chapel (4327 Taylor Blvd; Louisville, KY 40215).   

**Western Kentucky Visitation will also be held at 12 Noon (Central Standard Time) on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Calvert City Church of Christ (4625 US-62, Calvert City, KY 42029). Services will begin 3 PM (Central Time) Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at the church.  

Burial will follow in the Spring Creek Church of Christ Cemetery (970 KY-1684; Hickory, -KY 42051), where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Robert, her precious parents, and other family members she dearly missed.
