Anthony Scott Hardin, 42, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on January 15, 2026, surrounded by love. He was born on January 24, 1983, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Robert Lee Hardin and Karen Kay Wilbert.
Anthony was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend whose kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He married the love of his life, Ashley Hardin, on July 29, 2014, and together they built a life rooted in love, loyalty, and laughter.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ashley Hardin; his daughter, Brittany Gatewood (Dustin); his brother, Cody Hardin; his sisters, Stephanie Hardin and Hannah Pitt; his beloved silver-back blue nose Gotti pitbull, “Blue”; and his cherished cat, “Tigger.”
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Hardin and Karen Kay Wilbert; his brother, Richard Hardin; and his grandmother, Elizabeth “Granny Liz” Wilbert, whom he loved dearly.
Anthony took great pride in his work at Carriage Ford in Jeffersonville, where he worked in the body shop doing what he loved. His passion for cars was well known—especially his prized black 2020 V4 twin turbo Ford Mustang. When he wasn’t working, Anthony could often be found fishing, enjoying the peace and quiet of the water.
Above all else, Anthony will be remembered for his gentle spirit and generous heart. He was a kind man who never had a cross word for anyone and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His warmth, humor, and unwavering willingness to help others will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on Friday, January 23, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, at Legacy Funeral Center – Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1832 West Market Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40203. A funeral service will follow on Friday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
Anthony’s legacy of kindness, love, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
