Amir Lee Cosby

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Amir Lee Cosby, who was born on January 8, 2017, in Louisville, Kentucky, and departed this life on November 8, 2025, at the tender age of 8.

Amir was the beloved son of Audreanna Lee Hope Cosby and Haras Humphrey. He was a bright and loving third grader at Trunnell Elementary School, where his gentle spirit and kind heart touched the lives of his teachers and classmates alike.

Amir’s joy shone brightest when he was surrounded by his family. He loved gaming, watching YouTube, and sharing laughter with his cousins. He especially loved his snacks and spending quiet, happy moments with his mother, with whom he shared a deep and special bond. Amir was truly a “momma’s boy,” full of sweetness, gentleness, and love. He loved his father dearly and loved laughing with his dad over his funny ringtones. Amir also shared a special bond with his big brother, Jr., that could never be broken. His favorite thing to do was to play surviving 99 Nights in the Forest with his brother, Ethan. Amir especially loved his Sissy, Kawaii. They would fuss and fight like any brother and sister, but Amir always wanted to be with his big sister. They shared a special handshake that Mom didn't understand, but it was their thing. Amir had a great love of all of his siblings. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted parents; his siblings Kawaii Thompson, Deboe Lee Young, Heras Joey Lee Humphrey Jr., Ethan Darnell Humphrey Martin, Zoey Lee Williams, River Woods, Jameera Marie Humphrey Bingle, Kyrie Lee Humphrey Bingle, and Kyari Zayne Hagan; his aunts Cassandra Cosby, Alexandrea Redd, and Vivian Redd; and his cousins Secoya Trowell, Saniya Trowell, Sincere Trowell, Abrielle Redd, Abrianna Redd, and De-Abrion Harris.

Amir is also lovingly remembered by his grandparents Jessica and Montez Cosby, and Gale A. Bousso and John Eddings, Sr., as well as his great-grandparents Donald and Tonya Conner. His extended family and friends will forever remember his smile, his warmth, and the joy he brought into their lives.

Though Amir’s time on earth was far too short, his light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, especially Cleo Sol. 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 19 from 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM at Legacy Funeral Center - Nunnelley Chapel at 4327 Taylor Boulevard, Louisville, Kentucky  40215. A Funeral Service will follow Visitation at 1:30 PM at the Funeral Home.
