Alice D. (Dalton) Hasty

Alice D. Hasty, 72, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on February 28, 1952, to Genrel P. and Alta E. Dalton in Louisville, Kentucky. Alice grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, but had strong family ties to Harlan County, Kentucky. She loved family, both present and past, and kept family records and stories spanning 12 generations. Alice's family was her world. She was a devoted mother, aunt, and cousin who cherished hosting family gatherings and celebrating holidays. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and treasured memories. Known for her artistic talents, Alice's creativity shone through her ability to play the piano, crochet, quilt, and sketch. Her passion for music was evident in her love for country and gospel oldies, and she often used classical musicals like "The Sound of Music," "Cinderella," and "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" to impart life lessons to her daughters.

A lover of simple pleasures, Alice enjoyed playing board games around the table with her family. Her bond with her daughter Chyna was particularly special, marked by their shared saying, "I love you until the day after forever," a testament to their enduring love.

Alice's kindness, creativity, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She was loved by many souls, and her kind spirit and warmth will be forever remembered.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Genrel P. Dalton Sr., and Alta Earthield Waddell Dalton; husband, Bruce Hasty; and a mother-in-law, Ruby Hasty.

Left to cherish her memory, Alice is survived by 2 daughters, Chyna Hasty, and Robin Hasty Smith (Ron); 2 brother-in-laws, Mark Hasty, and Mike Hasty; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of extended family and close friends.

A funeral service for Mrs. Alice D. Hasty will be held at 1 PM on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Legacy Funeral Center – Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service. Burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West will follow the funeral service.
