Alfred E. Vest

Funeral services for Alfred E. Vest, 92, of Clarksville, Indiana, will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Legacy Funeral Center Scott Chapel, 921 Main Street in Jeffersonville, with entombment to follow in Graceland Mausoleum in New Albany.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 PM and on Friday prior to the service from 9-1 PM at the funeral home.  He passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Clark Memorial Hospital.

Alfred was born on October 17, 1928 in Pekin, Indiana to the late Charles Edward Vest and Mary Kate Lewellyn Vest.  He was a Local 522 Pipe Fitter and he retired from BF Goodrich Chemical Company after 28 years of service.    

Along with his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Z. Vest; two children, Edward Perry Vest and Diana Ruth Zank; and seven siblings, Francis Marion Vest, Raymon Earl Vest, Louis Edward Vest, Clarence Eugene Vest, Claude Elmo Vest, Grace Isabelle Griffin and Elsie L. Coleman.

He is survived by two children, Albert Lee Vest and Marilyn Vest; a brother, Walter Lee Vest; four grandchildren, Katrina Vogt, Hollisue Soto, Perry Vest, August Zank; several great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
