Alfred Douglas McPherson

Alfred Douglas “Doug” McPherson passed away on June 4, 2017. He was born on July 26, 1934 in Clifty, Kentucky. He later resided in Jeffersonville, IN. He grew up on a farm in a very close knit family. He was the 6th of 9 children. He served in the army and often spoke of his tour in Alaska. He retired from Algood Foods after working for 38 1\2 years. Doug was a gentle and kindhearted man who was loved and admired by many. He faithfully served God at Rowan Street Church of Christ for many years and then actively attended Northside Church of Christ.     

He is preceded in death by his parents and 5 of his siblings; his first love and teenage sweetheart, Mary Louann McPherson; and children, Marcia and Mark McPherson.

He is survived by his loving wife Jeanie McPherson; a son, Michael McPherson (Bernadine); a daughter, Michele Kenney (Joseph); a brother, Narvel McPherson (Doris); sisters, Sue Jones, and Nadine Wiles (Bill); a daughter-in-law, Leslie McPherson; 2 stepdaughters, Katherine Chadwell and D Gayle DeBord (Karl); and 9 grandchildren, Jacob, Bethany, Cortney, Zach, Camrin, Connor, Justin, Liz, and Jeffrey; and 1 great grandchild, Hudson.
