Norma Thomas Obituary

Norma Jean Thomas, 77, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 in Louisville, Kentucky. Norma was born on August 30, 1943 to the late George Monroe Carroll and Maudie Mae Sewell Carroll in Caneyville, Kentucky.

Norma was well known for her beautiful smile and outgoing personality. She loved playing bingo, buying TV jewelry and looking for treasures at the local thrift stores, especially rugs and antiques. Norma was a sharp dresser and loved going to King Fish with her husband, Jerry, for free fish sandwich night. She loved her family and often hosted holiday meals so everyone could come together. She also had a soft spot in her heart for her cats, Thomas and King.

In addition to her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry B. Thomas; a daughter, Tara Thomas Gaines and a daughter in law, Rosie Thomas.

Norma leaves to cherish her memory 3 sons, Jacob Thomas (Candy), Tony Thomas (Brenda) and Troy Thomas; 1 daughter, Natasha Black; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a host of friends and family.

A funeral service for Mrs. Norma Jean Thomas will be Friday, February 5, 2021 at 12 PM at Neurath & Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 1832 W. Market Street, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday, February 4. 2021 from 2 PM to 8 PM.

Due to local health concerns from COVID-19, masks and social distancing will be required at the funeral home. We ask that funeral patrons please take all precautions necessary if planning to attend. If you don’t feel comfortable attending the services, please feel free to leave condolences for the family on Norma Jean’s tribute wall. This can be found at the top of the page.
