Gary R. “Shag” Landrum, 62, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in Louisville, Kentucky with his family by his side. Gary was born February 7, 1958 to the late James and Rose Marie Randolph Cheatham in Louisville, Kentucky.
Shag was a big jokester and was loved by everyone who met him. He was a loving father, husband and Papa Shag. Gary was a hard worker and spent his spare time fixing and painting cars. He loved his classic cars and watching NASCAR, Bold and the Beautiful and Supernatural. Gary also worked as a machine operator for Jefferson Woodworking for many years.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by brother Jeff Cheatham and brother in law, Mike Brown.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Terri Landrum; his son, Michael Landrum (Melanie); siblings, Allen Landrum (Brenda), Dusty Landrum (Ada), Darrell Cheatham, Lisa Litterer (Carl) and Roseann Brown; grandson, Mikey “Bubba” Landrum; uncle, Laymon Grubb; longtime friends, Joe Hieatt (Charlene), Tommy Prewitt, William "Billy" Dunn and Jimmy Yadon, 8 nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends. Shag will be greatly missed by all those whose life he touched.
A public visitation for Mr. Landrum will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Legacy Funeral Center-Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1832 W. Market Street, Louisville, Kentucky.
