Charles Lee "Chico" Ernstberger Jr.

Charles Lee “Chico” Ernstberger Jr., 73, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 in Louisville, Kentucky. Chuck was born to the late Charles Lee and Catherine Losson Ernstberger Sr. in Louisville, Kentucky on January 13, 1948. 

Charles was an avid outdoorsman who loved riding his motorcycle, boating, camping and fishing.  Chuck had an independent and outgoing personality. He loved being funny and had a great sense of humor. Chuck got along with everyone and would do anything for anybody. He was a great family man and loved hanging out with family and friends, especially his kids and grandkids and debating hot topics. Chuck was a proud veteran of the Navy and after serving his country, he held many positions with the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the Corrections Department. He retired from the Commonwealth after 30 years of service. Chico will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory, Charles leaves behind 4 children, Lee Ernstberger, Michael Ernstberger, Tonya Beanblossom (Daniel) and Christopher Brooks (Bethany); 9 grandchildren, Rex Ernstberger, Taylor Hayes, Michael Sipes, Michael Ware, Jaydon Beanblossom, Devon Beanblossom, Logan Brooks, Eli Brooks and Victoria Brooks; cousin, James Cronen and a host of extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Charles Lee “Chico” Ernstberger Jr. will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Legacy Funeral Center-Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1832 W. Market Street, Louisville, Kentucky from 10 AM until 8 PM.
